    Introduction

    Cave Story - Doukutsu Monogatari, is a one man masterpiece jump-and-run platformer game from Daisuke Amaya, A.K.A Pixel released in 2004 for PC after 5 years of development.
    The NXEngine by Caitlin Shaw (A.K.A. rogueeve) is a complete open-source clone/rewrite of this game started in 2010.
    This program is released under the GNU General Public License v3.

    The game focuses on an amnesiac protagonist who awakens in a cave. Through his explorations, he discovers a plot by the Doctor, a megalomaniac who intends to force the inhabitants of the cave to fight for him in his bid to conquer the world. The protagonist is thrust into the position of savior as he endeavours to defeat the Doctor.

    Controls

    * joypad is highly recommended with full buttons support through HunoJoyWrapper
    * keyboard default key :
    Move left/right arrows keys
    Look up Up-arrow
    Search (or look down in midair) Down-arrow
    Jump Z
    Fire weapon X
    Change weapon A (back) and S (forward)
    Item Screen Q
    Display map (requires item) W
    * You can quit or reset the game by pressing ESC.
